How to earn a $1,000 salary with UMD’s $1 million financial aid scholarship
UMD has teamed up with financial aid to offer a $10,000 scholarship to help students earn a college degree in just a few years.
According to UMD President and CEO Dr. Kevin McInnis, the financial aid was developed with the goal of allowing students to obtain a degree and career without having to go through a traditional college degree program.
Students who qualify will receive the full tuition cost for a four-year undergraduate degree and a $100,000 grant in addition to an $8,000 stipend and $2,000 in scholarship funds.
Students will have two years of financial aid options available to them, but they must also complete a two-year master’s degree or a two year associate degree.
The school is offering the scholarships to incoming freshman and sophomores as well as students transferring to the school.
Students who apply will be considered for the $10K scholarship and will be contacted by April 7, 2018.
The program is free to all students and is only available to students from families making less than $125,000 per year.
According the UMD News, the scholarship is intended to help young adults who are facing barriers in the college admissions process, such as low SAT scores and an underrepresented student population.
The scholarships also help to ensure that students with a high likelihood of success are not overlooked and are able to pursue a college education at UMD.
